This video work explores gesture as a language of the inner world. The camera captures a monotonous, repetitive movement of hands intertwining around a strand of hair, isolated from any context. Within this enclosed frame, attention is drawn to the rhythm and cyclicality of the movement, resembling a quiet, symbolic dialogue — a question being asked and an answer being sought.
Hair functions as a visual symbol of the inner, fluid, and intuitive, while the hands represent materiality and conscious action. In their interaction, a fragile harmony between the material and the immaterial is revealed. The repetition of the movement and the static camera create a sense of introspection and withdrawal from reality.
The anonymity of the image universalizes the experience and leaves space for personal interpretation. Through the language of gesture, the work raises questions of identity, balance, and the intimate relationship between the body and the inner self.
