Shower / Soul, 2025, Video 2’28”

“Shower / Soul” is a look into my inner world—personal, dark, and intimate. In this video art, I show moments when I am alone with myself, away from other people and social expectations. The bathroom becomes my private place, where I can express emotions freely, without fear of judgment, cleanse my thoughts and fears, and return to my inner self.
The video explores darkness and light, which represent my inner and outer self. The dark shadow stands for the negative thoughts, fears, and insecurities I collect in everyday life. The shower becomes a place of cleansing: the water washes away the darkness and brings awareness and self-acceptance. During this process, shame turns into a healthy reaction to the outside world.
The bathroom space and the slightly opened gap create a view into my dark self—the part of me I do not show to others. The shower is a moment of connection with my inner light, where I transform the darkness I have created into awareness and calm.
This video art is a conversation with myself. It shows moments when I am alone and able to be my true self. The shower is a symbol of cleansing and release, a place where I find inner peace.
