AUTOMATIC Gallery will officially open during the 10th edition of DA Fest – International Digital Art Festival.
This moment marks more than an institutional debut.
It is the culmination of over 15 years of sustained curatorial exploration, experimentation, and engagement with digital arts by the team behind DA LAB Foundation and the National Academy of Arts, who initiated DA Fest in 2009 and have shaped the digital art landscape in Bulgaria ever since.
Fully automated, open 24/7, and functioning like a cultural vending machine, the gallery extends the ethos of DA Fest into a continuous, autonomous platform. It dissolves the boundary between curatorial practice and technological process, turning the gallery itself into a living system — an artwork in flux.
Its launch during DA Fest X is symbolic. It embodies a practice rooted in process and public interaction — an evolving ecosystem where infrastructure and imagination intersect. The gallery’s model encourages social reflexivity, technological critique, and aesthetic experimentation, inviting visitors into a space that is both mirror and mechanism.
AUTOMATIC Gallery is not simply a venue.
